Chicken Mushroom Rice

Chicken Mushroom Rice is a delicious dish of chicken with classic mushroom rice. This nice one-dish Chicken and Rice dish includes a combination of mushrooms, rice, and moist chicken is so easy to make, it's excellent for a quick lunch on a busy work day.


  • 1/4cupBasmati Rice ( बासमती चावल )
  • 2tbspVegetable Oil ( वनस्पति तेल )
  • 1PcsOnion ( प्याज )small size chopped finely
  • 2PcsGarlic Cloves ( लहसुन का लौंग )chopped finely
  • 2PcsRed Chilies ( लाल मिर्च )seeded and cut into silted
  • 225GramChicken breast ( मुर्ग़े का सीना )finely chopped
  • 85GramBamboo Shoots ( बांस की शाखा )chopped
  • 8PcsGucchi Mushrooms ( गुच्छी मशरुम )soaked for 30 minutes, drained and chopped
  • 2tbspDry Prawn ( सूखा झींगा )
  • 1tbspFish Sauce ( मछली का सॉस )
  • 25PcsBasil Leaves ( तुलसी पत्ता )
  • Basil Sprig ( तुलसी की छोटी शाखा )to garnish
  • Salt to taste ( नमक स्वाद अनुसार )


  1. Cook rice.

  2. Heat oil in a wok.

  3. Combine onion and garlic.

  4. Cook till golden.

  5. Stir occasionally.

  6. Combine chilies and chicken.

  7. Fry stirring for 2 minutes.

  8. Stir in bamboo shoots, mushrooms, dried shrimps, fish sauce and salt.

  9. Stir continuously 2 minutes.

  10. Combine in the rice and basil.

  11. Stir well.

  12. Garnish with basil sprig.

  13. Serve hot.
